The police received a call around 7.15pm about the accident, which took place on Holland Road towards Ulu Pandan.
Portions of the car body were completely ripped off, the windscreen was shattered and car parts were strewn as far awayas a nearby canal.
The driver of the Toyota escaped unscathed.
His car was only slightly damaged.
Force of impact
The force of the impact inflated airbags in the Lamborghini, believed to be a Murcielago.
Mr Wong was reportedly on his way home when the accident happened.
It is not clear how he lost control of his car. It is understood that he is not suspected to have been drinking.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force pulled Mr Wongout from the mangled wreck.
He suffered multiple fractures on his body and bruises around his eyes, reported Shin Min, quoting a relative of Mr Wong.
A relative told The New Paper: "We haven't even spoken to David yet. We don't want to talk about this at this point in time."
She added that Mr Wong was in stable condition and regained consciousness yesterday morning.
Mr Wong, a company director, lives in a three-storey bungalow in Bukit Timah.
He has four sons - an 18-year-old and triplets aged 15.
Neighbours said Mr Wong has been driving the Lamborghini for three years and doesn't let anyone else drive it.
His wife drives her own Toyota SUV.
His neighbours added that although the family has a maid, Mr Wong would always wash the Lamborghini himself.
An engineer specialising in cars, Mr Mike Low, said a similar Lamborghini would cost around $800,000.
