It’s a sad ending for American Idol’s former champ, Ruben Studdard.The singer, who’s nicknamed Velvet Teddy Bear, has filed for divorce from wife Surata Zuri McCants.
And like a broken record, Studdard cited the common “irreconcilable differences” on his divorce petition as the reason of the split.
Studdard’s publicist, Jocelyn R. Coleman, had also confirmed the sad news, by saying that her client and Zuri have gone their separate ways.
The pair dated for two years before tying the knot at the Canterbury United Methodist Church in June 2008, in his hometown of Birmingham, Alabama.
